As we sail from place to place, we keep a mental list of the special gems we’d be psyched to revisit on vacation, should we ever find ourselves living in a cold city again.
At the top of that list is St. Martin – mostly because of spots like Grand Case.
It’s a little funky, a little shabby, and a little chic. It’s beachy without feeling cheeseball. There’s good food (from fine dining steak tartar to BBQ at the lolos), a perfect beach, and lots of action.
Following a day of successful boat projects, we took the bus over from Marigot with Deb and Pete for a snack and a drink. From my favorite perch – a stool at the Love Hotel, overlooking the beach – we enjoyed some cold rosé sangria and people watching.
Next time we’ll bring the boat and spend the night. I can’t wait to go again.
